We are well balanced with leaders and followers. All
ages are welcome at all our dance lessons - however, we
do not provide child care.
Singles: Partners are not required. In fact,
most (~75%) of the dance students are singles who show
up solo. We rotate often - every minute or so - saying,
"ladies, thank your partner and move down one guy.
Introduce yourself to this new guy." We also use name
tags. When the number of leaders and followers is not
equal, "extras" slot themselves in between others during
the rotation and everyone takes a turn at not having a
partner. No one goes without a partner for more than a
few minutes, spread out over an hour and a half.
Couples: If you bring a partner, you have a
choice of rotating with the group (you will learn much
faster this way and meet the other dancers) or staying
with your partner. Almost all of the dancers rotate.
Ages: About half of our dancers are in their
40s and 50s.
